Our party of four had the most wonderful day’s fishing with Ben. He picked us up from our accommodation in Tekapo and spent the drive talking to us about the area and different fishing options. He had tailored the trip to both our fitness and fishing ability and we had an excellent experience, catching several trout over 20lbs and lots of smaller ones. Ben was attentive and encouraging, making sure we got the most out of the day – plus he provided a tasty, filling lunch along with tea and coffee as needed to keep us going! We would thoroughly recommend Ben.

I booked with Braided Rivers Fishing Guides last year with my 6-year-old son Bodhi. Right from the pickup from our accommodation Ben was an awesome guide. He customised our trip to suit Bodhi and his little legs, and my keenness to catch a donkey trout. It was our first attempt at trout fishing and within the first hour Bodhi got himself a nice 10lb rainbow! With Bodhi ticking off his fish it was my turn. Ben expertly talked and guided me through the techniques and finally landed me a dream rainbow trout going very close to that magic 20lb mark.

The three of us had a day with plenty to keep us entertained including a 21 pound rainbow trout and a 17 pound brown. Best freshwater fishing in the world. Ben is the best guide to do it with.
